Voice notes

Say it once. Keep it for good.

A voice note in Recolo is not an audio file in a list. It is transcribed, summarised, filed where it belongs, and answered from when you ask.

The trouble with voice memos

A voice memo app is the fastest way to capture a thought, and the slowest way to find it again. The recording sits in a list named by date, and the only way to know what is in it is to play it. So the thoughts pile up and are never heard twice.

Recolo treats a voice note as something to read, not replay. Speak, stop, and within a minute there is a transcript, a brief of what you said, and the note is filed beside the people, projects and topics it mentions. The audio stays attached for the times you want the exact words.

Thoughts, meetings and calls, all the same way

Filed without filing

You never name a voice note or put it in a folder. Recolo reads the transcript and links the note into your knowledge graph: the person you mentioned, the project it concerns, the topic it belongs to. A month later, asking about that person brings the voice note back beside every meeting and article that touched them.

Ask your voice notes anything

Because every note is transcribed and linked, your voice notes become part of a second brain you can question. "What was the idea I had about onboarding last week?" Ask Brain answers and shows the note it came from, so you can read the transcript or play the moment.

Made for the way people actually speak

Recolo transcribes in many languages, including English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Tamil and Telugu, and copes with a conversation that switches between them. Recordings are saved on your phone first and upload once you are online, so a dead zone never loses a note. Recolo only records when you press start, and shows that it is recording until you stop.

Questions about voice notes

Does Recolo transcribe voice notes?

Yes. Every voice note is transcribed, in many languages, and Recolo writes a short brief of what you said and what it means. The audio stays attached, so you can listen back to the moment.

How long can a voice note or recording be?

As long as you need. Recolo is built for long recordings, including meetings that run for hours, as well as ten-second thoughts.

What happens to a voice note after I record it?

It is saved on your phone first, uploaded, transcribed and filed beside the people, projects and topics it mentions. Anything you said you would do becomes a reminder, and the note becomes part of the memory Ask Brain answers from.

Can I record a voice note without a signal?

Yes. Recordings are saved on your phone first and upload when you are back online, so a dropped connection never loses a note.

Can I search my voice notes?

Yes, by asking. Ask Brain searches the transcripts of every voice note along with your meetings and reading, and answers with the notes it used.
